'Twenty' Magazine

The print publication Twenty is directed at young women who move against the mainstream. Targeting that audience of unconventionalists, the Twenty masthead style is DIY-influenced, like letters cut from craft paper and pasted into a scrapbook . It catches eyes with its heavy and unapologetic color-blocking.

The feature article spread heavily focuses on the concept of knowing the rules and choosing to break them, which suits the subject of the article, a punk rock musician. The collage of images were all placed by hand in a 'back to basics' approach which gives the article its own strong personality separate from the rest of the magazine.

Index

The front content of Twenty is intentionally simple to allow for endless customization with every new issue. Its index takes over a 2/3rds portion of the vertical space on the page, and is split horizontally by a 1/3rd sized color block. This is very easy on the eyes.
